Not everybody wants a wall telling them about pain and sacrifice. Some people run three races a year, enjoy all of them, and would find a display about suffering faintly ridiculous.

This is the one for them. Same AISI 304 steel and the same continuous rail as everything else in the range — the only difference is that it does not take itself seriously, which turns out to be what a lot of collections need.

It sits well in a kitchen or a living room, which is unusual for a medal display. Most of the range is too earnest for a room where people sit down.

These are the sizes available. If it is a present and you are guessing, guess upwards — a display that is slightly too big still looks right.

For a living space rather than a hallway, the 45 cm is usually the right balance — visible without dominating the wall.

What it is actually made of

The medal hanger is AISI 304 stainless steel — food-grade, marine-grade, the same material as a good kitchen worktop — at 2.5-3 mm depending on which width you take. It will outlast the collection on it.

Medals sit on a single continuous bar. No hooks means no ceiling on the count and no gaps when a medal comes off.

Installation

Supplied with everything needed except a drill: standoffs, fixings and a full-size paper template. The standoffs set it off the wall slightly, which is what makes the shadow underneath.

Once there is no space left

The proportions are drawn so that two units stacked or lined up look like one piece of furniture rather than an afterthought. The widest version holds up to 110 medals across three rails.

When it arrives

Each medal hanger is made to order in the EU and leaves within 3–5 working days. Fourteen days to change your mind once it is in your hands.
