Basketball seasons are long and the medals stack up

League, cup, summer tournaments, the odd 3x3 event. Over a few years that's a lot of ribbon, and ribbon is bulky — basketball medals tend to come on wide bands that eat more space than you'd think.

Which is the argument for going one width up. The 60 and 75 cm versions are cut from 3 mm steel precisely because they carry more weight, and the widest holds up to 110 medals across three rails.

Wall position is worth thinking about. Basketball medals are heavy for their size, and a full 75 cm display carries real weight — the standoffs in the box are rated for it, but it wants a solid wall or proper anchors in plasterboard rather than a picture hook.

The same medal display is cut in several widths. Buying as a gift? Count what is already in the drawer and go one size up.

Basketball ribbons are wide. Take the number of medals, add a third, and size for that.

Why stainless steel, not painted sheet metal

The medal hanger is cut from AISI 304 stainless steel (V2A / 1.4301), 2.5-3 mm thick depending on the width. Not painted sheet metal that chips at the first knock.

And it holds a continuous rail, not hooks. Twelve hooks means twelve medals. A rail holds as many as fit.

Putting it up

The standoffs hold it a centimetre off the wall, which is what gives the shadow line. Template, screws and plugs are included; you need a drill and ten minutes.

After the first one is full

They're made to pair. A second unit sits flush against the first and the run reads as a single display. The widest version holds up to 110 medals across three rails.
