A motorsport that gives medals to people who build their own cars

Drift events reward the driver and, indirectly, whoever spent the winter on the car. Those two are often the same person, which is why the medals from a season tend to end up in the workshop rather than the house.

So this is built for a workshop wall. Stainless steel rather than painted mild steel, standoffs that hold it off the surface, and a rail that keeps ribbons hanging straight instead of bunched on a nail.

If this is going on a workshop wall next to tools, the finish is worth knowing: brushed stainless, not painted, so scratches from a passing spanner do not expose a different colour underneath.

This medal hanger is produced in the widths below. If you are buying it as a gift, size on the collection they already have rather than on what looks right on the wall.

Size & capacity

Size Steel 1 rail 2 rails 3 rails
45 x 8 cm 2.5 mm 13-20 24-36 34-50
60 x 11 cm 3 mm 21-30 38-55 55-75
75 x 11.5 cm 3 mm 31-45 55-80 75-110

Not sure which size?

Drift calendars are short — six to ten events a year. The 45 cm size covers several seasons. This design is produced from 45 cm upwards — the cut-out detail doesn't hold at smaller widths.

Made from one sheet, not assembled from parts

The medal holder is laser-cut from a single piece of AISI 304 stainless steel, 2.5-3 mm thick depending on the width. Nothing welded on, nothing to come loose.

Medals hang on a continuous rail rather than individual hooks, so you're limited by the width of the bar and nothing else.

Mounting

Everything is in the box: stainless standoffs, screws, wall plugs and a paper template. Mark through the template, drill, done — about ten minutes.

Running out of room

Buy a second and line it up directly beneath or beside this one — the proportions are designed so a pair looks intentional. The widest version holds up to 110 medals across three rails.

Getting it to you

This medal holder is made to order in the EU and on its way within 3–5 working days, with fourteen days to send it back if it isn't right.
