At that distance a 35 or 45 cm unit reads perfectly well, and the wide sizes start to dominate the room. Measure the wall before choosing, not the collection.

On a close wall the wording is read properly rather than recognised from a distance, which changes how much width the design needs.

Below are the widths this design is cut in. The honest advice for a gift is to size on the drawer, not on the wall.

Measure the wall first. In a room, 35 and 45 cm both hold their own.

What it is actually made of

The medal hanger is AISI 304 stainless steel — food-grade, marine-grade, the same material as a good kitchen worktop — at 2.5-3 mm depending on which width you take. It will outlast the collection on it.

Medals sit on a single continuous bar. No hooks means no ceiling on the count and no gaps when a medal comes off.

Getting it on the wall

Stainless standoffs, screws, plugs and a paper template are all in the box. Tape the template up, mark two holes, drill, and it is done inside a quarter of an hour.

When it fills up

A second unit mounts flush against the first, so the wall still reads as one piece rather than two things hung near each other. The widest version holds up to 110 medals across three rails.
