Series racing means a medal every few weekends

Class championships, club series, regatta weeks. Sailing hands out silverware to crews as well as helms, so a single season can leave four or five pieces spread between a boat bag, a car boot and a kitchen drawer.

The material is the argument here. AISI 304 is the grade chandlery is made from, so this medal display belongs in a house near the water in a way that painted steel does not. The first of the two yachting cuts, with the hull and sail silhouette.

Class associations order these as series prizes. The configurator can cut a class name or a sail number into the steel if the display is going to a specific boat rather than a person.

A season of club series racing produces four to eight pieces. Twenty years of it does not fit on 35 cm.

Made from one sheet, not assembled from parts

The medal holder is laser-cut from a single piece of AISI 304 stainless steel, 2.5-3 mm thick depending on the width. Nothing welded on, nothing to come loose.

Medals hang on a continuous rail rather than individual hooks, so you're limited by the width of the bar and nothing else.

Mounting

Everything is in the box: stainless standoffs, screws, wall plugs and a paper template. Mark through the template, drill, done — about ten minutes.

Running out of room

Buy a second and line it up directly beneath or beside this one — the proportions are designed so a pair looks intentional. The widest version holds up to 110 medals across three rails.
